Who I Coach

I coach athletes who are ready to get started, stay consistent, and feel proud of what they’re doing — whether that’s your first triathlon, your first aquabike, or a new goal you’ve been thinking about for a while.

Many of the athletes I coach are beginners, women 40+, busy adults, or athletes returning after time away. The common thread is a desire to do something meaningful, build confidence, and see what’s possible.

Meet Coach Erin

Hi, I’m Erin Byrge, triathlon coach and founder of 3 Goals Multisport Coaching. My passion is helping athletes like you set meaningful goals and feel proud of every step along the way. I’ve worked with beginners taking on their very first sprint triathlon as well as athletes chasing full Ironman finish lines. With more than 12 years of racing experience myself, I know the ups, downs, and challenges of multisport—and I use that insight to guide you toward training smarter, racing with confidence, and enjoying the journey.

How I Coach

I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all training.

Your plan is built using advanced, data-driven training based on your fitness, your schedule, and your goals—so you’re always doing the right work at the right time.

From there, I guide you through the process with real coaching support to help you stay consistent, adjust when life happens, and keep moving forward.

It’s not about doing more. It’s about doing what matters—and having the support to stick with it.

I also use my 3 Goals approach to help athletes stay motivated and avoid the all-or-nothing mindset—so you always have something to be proud of.

Coaching Philosophy

I believe training should build confidence—not take it away.

Too often, athletes feel like they’ve failed if everything doesn’t go perfectly. That’s why I use a 3 Goals approach, so you always have something to be proud of and a reason to keep moving forward.

This isn’t about perfection. It’s about showing up, doing the work that matters, and discovering what you’re capable of.

Why work with me?

I specialize in helping new and time-strapped athletes who are ready to explore their potential but might not know where to start. Whether it’s overcoming open-water fears, finding balance in a busy schedule, or building confidence, I’m here to guide you every step of the way.

Let’s turn your “I can’t” into “I did” and get you to your finish line with a smile on your face! Together, we’ll make your triathlon or multisport dreams a reality.

I was motivated to join Team 3G because I wanted guidance, accountability, and a community that truly supports growth. Coach Erin’s energy, knowledge, and dedication inspired me to take the step and believe in myself.

The biggest change has been my mindset. I’ve gained confidence, discipline, and consistency—not only in fitness but also in everyday life. Coach Erin helped me realize that I’m capable of more than I thought possible.

If you’re considering joining, don’t hesitate—it’s one of the best investments you can make in yourself. You’ll get encouragement, structure, and a coach who genuinely cares about your progress.

“As a mom and a huge introvert, I needed something in my life that was just for me. Working with Coach Erin has given me exactly that. Training with her has been a major lifestyle shift—physically, emotionally, and even socially. I’ve created healthier habits, built confidence I didn’t know I had, and started feeling more like myself again.

If you’re thinking about joining Team 3G, do it! This is so much more than a team… it truly feels like a family.”

I’ve seen Coach Erin’s passion and drive for Multi Sport and I knew she would be the best coach to help me achieve my goals.

I have seen a definite change in my consistency, focus and attitude when it comes to my training.

If you need that push to get you started in Multi Sport joining Team 3G is a great move. The community is very supportive and motivating.”

Franklin A.

“Even though I had already completed a 70.3, I knew I still had a lot to learn if I was ever going to get close to my goals. I chose to work with Erin because she’s a natural coach, and I trusted she would help me move in the right direction—and she absolutely has.

One of the biggest changes for me has been the balance in my training. The plan doesn’t just juggle swim, bike, and run—it also balances speed-focused sessions with recovery and aerobic work. Even when I didn’t follow it perfectly, the structure always felt manageable and like it could fit into my real life, not take it over.

If you’re thinking about joining Team 3G, I’d say don’t hesitate. You won’t realize how helpful a truly supportive coach and community can be until you have one. Erin is encouraging, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in your progress—and having friendly 3G faces on race day makes it all worthwhile.”

— Kellyn

“After taking a few years off from triathlon and having my baby, I needed some encouragement and confidence to come back. I was nervous about getting back on the bike and overwhelmed by how to fit effective training into my life. From day one, Erin reassured me that I absolutely could get to that 70.3 finish line—and she was right.

The biggest change since working with Coach Erin has been my nutrition. I’ve always been disciplined with structure, but I never fully understood how to fuel for long-course racing. I went from struggling to stand upright after a half marathon to finishing a 70.3 feeling strong and proud. That happened because of smart training and proper fueling.

If you’re considering joining the 3G Community or working with Coach Erin, I can honestly say it’s worth it. Having a knowledgeable coach who works with your schedule and understands real-life constraints is invaluable. It took all the guesswork off my plate while I was juggling two jobs and mom life. And when I’m ready to go after another 140.6 in a few years, Erin will be the first person I call.”

— Lindsay

“I met Erin during a group swim. She was welcoming, took extra time to help me as a new join, and was clearly a skilled swimmer. It was clear that she cared about her athletes and knows how to train them.

I am better at swimming! She improved my Critical Swim Speed by over 10%. I went from thinking 1 mile was far to swimming several miles at time. And she took me from being anxious in the ocean to looking forward to open water events. For her skill and personality, you can’t find a better coach than Erin.

Many swimmers seem to have a background in [swimming] from school or childhood. I am an adult learner and without coaching I wouldn’t have anywhere near the same amount of progress.”
